Chauve qui peut!
The classic cry during a French shipwreck "Sauve qui peut!" basically means "Save himself who can!".
My niece was wondering why I was creased up with laughter while looking at a bookstand in the café at Col de Couraduque in the Hautes Pyrénées; the reason was a book about a cartoon bat entitled "Chauve qui peut!".

For those who are still in the dark, the French for 'bat' (of the mammalian-insect-eating variety) is a 'chauve souiris' (literally a 'bald mouse').
