Good old Garmin - 2
After several years of steady use, the ON/OFF button on the Garmin 60CS had become very difficult to operate. A phone call to Garmin informed me that they have one repair price (just over £70) whatever the problem.
£70 for a replacement switch (in reality, possibly the main circuit board) seemed a bit steep, but I really had no option. At the same time, I asked them that the screen, which I had badly scratched against a wall on top of Table Mountain, be changed as well.
A week later a parcel from Garmin arrived containing ... what appears to be a brand new 60CS! This model is now discontinued, but its replacement, the 60CSx, retails for around £216 (or more). On that basis, £70 for a new (or even, fully overhauled) 60CS looks good to me.

After loading the detailed maps from MapSource to the GPS, I got the expected 'Can't unlock maps' error message (since the map unlock codes are related to the individual GPS unit). Another call to Garmin and a full set of replacement unlock codes was emailed to me within 5 minutes.
Good service? Yes. Recommended.
